Movie Proposal

I can understand different forms and techniques
I can compose using specific forms

Think of some of the elements and characteristics of a disaster movie; there's usually a group of people together in a building, ship, or other area; there's a focus on a few main characters, each with his or her own personal problems; a hero emerges; the villain may be nature, though there is often someone who works against the hero; and there are usually spectacular effects.

You are to create a proposal for a thrilling new disaster movie. As you write, imagine that you are trying to convince a movie producer to make a film based on your idea.

Your proposal should

  • describe, in an exciting way, the setting of the disaster
  • provide an exciting storyline
  • describe the main characters who undergo the experience (and list the actors to play those parts)
  • contain expressive adjectives to convey the terrifying effect of the disaster
Be certain to exchange your proposal with a partner. and give eachother helpful feedback.

Would a producer be convinced that your story line would make a good movie?
Would the producer  be interested in your characters?
Impressed by your descriptive writing?
You should also explain why your film would be popular
